This holiday you won't have to give up practicing your favorite physical discipline simply because you are away from home.

At Hoteles Solaris de México, we believe it's very important to start the day with this great discipline, so we have almost every morning in the beach area our relaxing classes with incredible instructors.

The difference in practicing yoga on the beach is centered on comparing the landscape and the temperature around you; the sea and the sand allows you to create new neural connections, which reduce the stress levels of everyone who tests it.

It is recommended to perform yoga on the beach early in the morning or in the evening to avoid the heat wave, also takes into account that the sun provides us with vitamin D, which helps the body to absorb calcium.

Below is a list of the benefits of yoga on the beach:

  1. Cleaner air is breathed in, as the body gets better oxygen and nitrogen.

  2. There is better oxygenation for the mind and body, use to breathe deeply to clean your lungs with clean air.

  3. Improves the balance in postures, because the surface of the sand forces in seeking stability with the coordination of the muscles of the body.

  4. Our body produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight.

  5. On the other hand, the feeling of being in front of the sea, listening to the waves, feeling the breeze, and stimulating the senses is very pleasant, because this will allow a better concentration, meditation, renewal and relaxation for the mind and body.

We have 10 yoga postures ideal for practicing on the beach:

The Warrior I To start the day of yoga on the beach is convenient to start with a not too high level. The posture of Warrior I is ideal for the first days of the beach. With your feet together and by the sea, take a broad stride backward while gently flexing the knee of the front leg. Remember not to go over the tip of the foot with your knee as you go down. Keep the palms together by raising them to the sky above the head.

The Camel In this position you can stretch the entire body and expands the chest by bringing the arms back. Sitting on your heels, get on your knees, place your hands on your hips and begin to breathe deeply by pressing on your hips to start arching your back back. Tilt your head backwards as well, turning your gaze to the ceiling and catching your ankles with your hands.

Dog upside down Sitting on your heels, begin to walk on your hands in front of you, extending your body until you are, little by little, in the form of a triangle with four points of support. Pressure the sand while stretching your legs and arms at the same time. It is important to drop your head between your arms to protect your lower back and avoid injury.

Half Lotus Sitting and cross-legged, take your right foot to the thigh of the other leg, below. The left foot you should put, little by little, on the right thigh.

Tree Pose The tree posture is one of the basic postures of yoga balance. Standing and with your back straight, fixes a specific point with your eyes, breathe and begin to lift your left foot to place it on the right thigh. Then put your palms together as a prayer on your chest and slowly lift them over your head. Do it again with the other leg.

The Warrior II This position is the second variation of the initial position of the warrior. Separate legs simultaneously more or less one meter apart. Lift both arms parallel to the floor and palms facing down. Exhale and begin to lower gradually by bending the front knee. It is important to keep the hips at the same angle so that the knee does not overlap our forefoot and the arms remain elevated and straight.

Dog up This posture is perfect for stretching the spine and lumbar area well. Lie on your stomach, prone (with your head on your side) with your arms at your sides. Bend your elbows and press with the palms of the hands against the sand of the beach. Inhale and lift your hips, chest and head.

Side plank It starts in the plank position. Transfer the weight of your body to the hand you are going to keep pressing on the sand and feet. Align your body in a lateral position with your legs together, one over the other. Lift the opposing arm, look at the thumb of that hand and raise the hips. Do the same again but on the other side.

The dancer Stand up, bend one leg back until you can take it with your hand on that same side. Relax your chest, lean forward and contract the inside of your body. Try to form the largest possible arch with your back pushing with your foot raised back and up. Extend your other arm forward to keep your balance more easily.

Extended side angle Bend the knee and move the right forearm until it is placed over the right thigh. The left arm extends it towards the ceiling, over the head. Open your chest and take three inhalations at least in this posture. Then do the same with the other side.

Remember that it is very important in each exercise to take into account the breath to be able to get a better performance.

This vacation there is no reason to abandon this incredible exercise, because the beach may be the best place for your mind and body to connect again.
