International Day of Peace: Consciousness and brotherhood of nations.

Por: Aline Rivas

The International Day of Peace is celebrated around the world every 21 September. The General Assembly has declared it a day dedicated to strengthening the ideals of peace, within nations, as between all of them and their peoples.

The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations as an annual celebration of non-violence and global ceasefire. Every year, many people from all over the world pay tribute to peace in various ways on September 21.

The International Day of Peace offers people around the world a common date to think about how they can individually contribute to ensuring that natural resources are managed in a sustainable way, reducing the potential for conflict and paving the way for a sustainable future, "The future we want".

This year the campaign is titled "Together for Peace: Respect, Security and Dignity for All" in the spirit of JUNTOS, a global initiative whose aim is that people who have been forced to leave their homes in search of a better life enjoy respect and security and live in dignity.

JUNTOS was launched during the Summit on Refugees and Migrants held on September 19, 2016 and brings together the entire United Nations system, 193 Member States, the private sector and civil society. academic institutions and citizens to support diversity, non-discrimination and acceptance of refugees and migrants.

Hoteles Solaris de México joins this commemoration, understanding the needs, and at the same time, the urgency to establish optimal channels that bind us and allow the coexistence between all human beings, understanding us as citizens of the world, as companions of existence in the transit through life and understanding that there are no borders, walls or barriers more than in thought.

This 21st of September we will become aware of the Peace that we need as individuals, as a society and as human beings.
